Kiplinger | Why Nvidia's earnings announcement is "pivotal" for the stock market

James Demmert, chief investment officer of Main StreetResearch, says Nvidia's earnings announcement, due after today's close, is"pivotal" not only for the chipmaker but also for the broader stockmarket.

A strong print "can rejuvenate investoroptimism across the board and help investors to focus on the power of AI andless on headlines out of Washington on tariffs and taxes," Demmertexplains.

The CIO thinks the "AI story andevolution is alive and well," but he notes that it has been "cloudedby trade fears and U.S. policy."

Demmert adds that "AI has proven toenhance productivity growth for the global economy.

He says investors who want exposure to theexpanding space should consider buying Nvidia stock, considering it's trading"at a discount to the company's growth rate."
